Pi-Chung Wang received the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science and Information Engineering from National Chiao Tung University in 1997 and 2001, respectively. Wang's advisor is Prof. Yaw-Chung Chen. From 2002 to 2006, Wang was with Telecommunication Laboratories of Chunghwa Telecom, working on network planning in broadband access networks and PSTN migration. During these four years, he also worked on IP lookup and classification algorithms. He joined the Deparement of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), National Chung Hsing University (NCHU), Taiwan in 2006. Since 2014, he has been a professor of CSE, NCHU. He is currently a distinguished professor of CSE, NCHU and a senior member of IEEE.

Research Interests


Pi-Chung Wang's research interests include IP lookup and packet classification algorithms, scheduling algorithms, protocols in local area networks and wireless sensor networks. He has developed optimization algorithms for wireless sensor networks based on different metaheuristics. He also joined a three-year project related to elderly healthcare (2008-2011). Since 2014, he is working on projects of SDN and TCAM. He is also developing several research areas, including mobile edge computing and vehicular networking.
